Biography
Multidisciplinary artist who grew up in the town of Juncos, Puerto Rico.
In 2017, she completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) with a concentration in Sculpture and a minor in Painting at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico. She pursued graduate studies leading to a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) with a concentration in Ceramics and Photography at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, San Germán campus, from which she graduated in 2025.
In 2021, the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña acquired one of her works. Since 2012, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions in museums, galleries, and alternative spaces, both within Puerto Rico and abroad. She is co-founder of Taller Malaquita, a multidisciplinary research space in the visual and plastic arts led by women artists.
In 2022, she presented her first solo exhibition titled MACHIHEMBRAO: laboratorio de cuerpos, where she explored the duality that can inhabit a single body. In 2023, she presented her second solo exhibition at the Museo de los Santos, HABITAR EL FUEGO: Ánima Sola. By 2025, she opened her third solo exhibition Entre la tierra y la memoria at the space Unknown Society.
She currently serves as a professor in the Sculpture and Painting Departments at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico, as well as a graduate-level professor in the Arts Department at the Interamerican University, San Germán campus.
Her work spans multiple media, including sculpture, photography, installation, ceramics, drawing, painting, among others, always approaching her projects from the perspective of lived experience. Her body of work is guided by process and research, moving through contrasts between material, form, and concept—emphasizing transformation.
